Saadiq Mohiuddin is a cloud engineer at Development Seed. He works primarily on VEDA, a NASA IMPACT project that provides open science infrastructure for data processing, visualization, exploration and analysis on the cloud. He cares deeply about urban sustainability, transportation systems and climate change mitigation. He won first place in the 2024 Transportation Research Board (TRB) Transit Data Challenge which seeks to find innovative methods and tools that improve decision-making for public transit.

Previously, Saadiq worked for a government agency as a transportation engineer/project manager delivering transportation projects. He also spent time with Sparkgeo as a ML engineer.

Saadiq graduated from the University of Calgary with a degree in civil engineering and has a M.S. in computer science from Georgia Institute of Technology. He’s a professional engineer (P.Eng.) registered in Alberta as well as certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Outside of work, Saadiq enjoys spending time with his family in Calgary and traveling and experimenting with espresso recipes.
