Nightline Chevy Culturing Jamming Ads Interview

So people are sharing what they want from a car… will SUV
makers listen?  The notorious
do-it-yourself Chevy Tahoe ads have hit the mainstream media with coverage in
the New York Times and now tonight on Nightline. 

I just got back from an interview at Nightline and hanging
out with Marty Kearns from Green Media Toolshed who writes over at
www.Network-CentricAdvocacy.net.  This site is the hub for all the ads that people
are making and is coming up second when you google “chevy ad.”    So if you if have made any videos go post
them there – we are trying to record as many of these as we can!

If you think the interview tonight sucked just know that it
is because they have a fleet of Chevy Tahoes and Suburbans in their garage –
Marty and I took pictures :).

Trying to Do Collaborative Video in Drupal

Hey Eric,

I've been reading Marty's blog throughout this whole thing, and I didn't connect the dots that it was you helping kick start the jamming until I saw you in the Nightline clip.

I think that the collaborative production of video content is going to be a huge part of network-centric advocacy, and what I've been scheming to pull off within Drupal.

I'm a lot closer to getting something up and running, and the
collaborative audio editing is already possible with open standards + Drupal.

The software for collaborative film editing still has a ways to go...

But I just wanted to touch base again with you to let you know that I'm working on this, and I'd love to work more closely with some people within the activist development community to help bootstrap this into Drupal.

BTW, I've come across a core Drupal hack for user generated collaborative tagging, which is an important part of the workflow.

VDB-loyalist Margaret Gundersen sent a tip this morning: her son Eric — an environmental activist and blogger at developmentseed.org — was interviewed for a Nightline piece last night. The footage was well worth checking out, Margaret hinted.

We were skeptical. Like, dude, she’s his mom — what else is she going to say?
