Drupal, Open Government, and Rehashing the Online Presidential Campaign
Welcome to winter, Washington, DC. Temperatures plunged on Saturday night, giving us our first real taste of winter. Unfortunately according to the forecast, this cold weather is here to stay for at least the next week. Luckily, there are lots of indoor tech events taking place this week to give you a warm post-work activity or at least a stopping point in your commute home. Monday, November 17

DC Drupal Meetup: Drupal is one of the most popular open source content management systems out there, and this event is your chance to meet the people working with it every day. Whether you’re a Drupal developer or user, or a wannabe Drupal developer or user, come out and meet the local Drupal community.
Tuesday, November 18
11:30 am – 1:30 pm
‘The Intersection of Marketing and Technology: Like most industries, marketers are in hot pursuit of determining how to best use technology and social media to get their messages to their audience. Experts will discuss the more promising strategies at this lunch event.
5:00 – 8:00 pm
Social Matchbox: Are you looking for a tech job, or do you want to hire a programmer or web content manager? Then come out for this meet and great – also know as “speed dating for geeks.”

Pimp My Nonprofit: How to Stay Involved Now that Your Candidate is President: You’ve heard the buzz about President-elect Obama wanting to keep an open dialogue with the people – and his supporters – once he takes office, but how will this work? Come out to meet the company tasked with doing this and listen how they’ll carry it out.

DrupalCamp Philly: This one’s not in DC, but for any Drupal fans it’s well worth the train ride to Philadelphia for this crash course in Drupal programming.
Thursday, November 20
3:00 – 5:00 pm
Internet Advocacy Roundtable – 2008: A Great Web Campaign or the Greatest?: People have called Obama’s online campaign revolutionary and the deciding factor in his presidential win. But, was it really the greatest online campaign ever? Come hear a panel of online campaign experts weigh in.
