Drupal Coder and CitizenSpeak Win!
I’d like to congratulate two Development Seed friends for their excellent work – work so great that it has won the nation’s top prize in public interest computing. George Hotelling beat out some stiff competition to win the Pizzigati PrizeCitizenSpeak!
The Antonio Pizzigati Prize is awarded to developers who create open source applications and tools that nonprofit and advocacy groups can use for social change. And that is exactly what happens with CitizenSpeak. George built the Drupal model that runs CitizenSpeak, which is a free email advocacy service that gives small grassroots organizations the same email campaign capabilities as larger organizations and is run by Jo Lee. Development Seed also had a hand in the project – we designed the website and gave George a stellar recommendation to the Tides Foundation who picks the winners.Read what George and Jo have to say about the award and check out their work. Congrats again!
