Development Seed Blog

Jose Reyero Joins the Development Seed Team

!Bienvenidos a Jose! This is awesome news and feels like a natural union. Jose is a multilingual website expert and the lead developer of the Drupal internationalization (i18n) package, and here at Development Seed we work with international development organizations that need to manage multilingual dynamic websites.

We've enjoyed working with Jose for more than a year now while supporting his development of i18n, specifically upgrading it to Drupal 4.7 and most recently porting it to Drupal 5.0, due out in the next several weeks.

One of our goals is to make multilingual websites work better. Jose is helping us do that by improving i18n, by ensuring that Drupal is looking at internationalization in the best possible way, and by working with the Drupal community to find the most effective direction to take.

In the next few weeks we'll blog about the plans for improving multilingual support in Drupal. For now anyone interested can learn a lot about what's happening over on the i18n group.

Good news!

As all the people above already stressed, accomplishing robust i18n support is one of the important future goals for drupal. This should definitely be a core project, imho.
It's good to know the task is in good and caring hands in a longer run. Keep up the good work, Jose and the Seeds!
