Any podcaster want a Skype Voicemail invite?
I have one extra voicemail invite and I want to give a podcaster a choice to review it. If you would like the invite just leave a comment here about why you want to check it out and please put a plug for your podcast and I will choose a podcaster at the end of the week on friday- Jan 28th.
Podcaster looking for Skype VM invite
Eric,
If you still have the Skype VM invite, I would love to beta with it. I record 2 podcasts weekly; one is the "Commute-cast" I host at kct's digital world. The other is one that I will be co-hosting with James Kendrick from jkontherun. We just recorded our first "techAddiction" show that will be hosted at The Podcast Network but it's still in "post production"....should be out there in the next day or so.
Thanks!

skype voice messaging and other chat client services
I installed it too now. I really liked the ideas mentioned on Adam Curry's Daily Source Code in regards to how Skype can do more with this, in terms of not just being able to record conversations, but also if you can produce an MP3 w/ the Skype client, people could use it to record their pod casts. This also relates to my post about offering more services via clients like MSN Messenger whereby people could post classifieds listings, offer up their pod casts, and all of this could go into a main directory listing like the profile listing on MSN.
Right now you're given 60 seconds time to leave a message on Skype. I don't know how many messages you can have in your box before it's full. Like with email, it's phenomenally successful, and SMS took off. What place does audio messaging have...not real time, but recorded and sent or offered for subscription...how will the masses utilize it; will it be podcasting, or will it be narrowed down to some kind of voice emailing which everyone will use, like email? This then presents issues w/ searching, but voice-to-text indexing can take care of this like Yahoo and others are indexing videos, or like Google is indexing tons of texts from massive libraries.
Eric, you should expand more on your idea about giving people who cannot afford a telephone the ability to receive voice messages, like candy vendor kids on the streets of megalopolises who do have 20 cents to pop into the cabina and check email or voicemail. Te toca...
