Target Photo Petition Launched!

Target-Photo-PetitionWe just launched a 'photo petition' for Planed Parenthood's campaign against Target on their SaveROE.com site. Check out the pictures telling Target to stop denying medication to women. You can add your own picture telling Target to stop messing up here.

It is pretty cool, playing off other successful photo speak-out campaigns like FUH2 | Fuck You And Your H2 with the "Hummer H2 salute" of flipping off an H2, and the Sorry Everybody which documented the post 2004 election picture gallery of Americans
offering apologies
to the world for George Bush's re-election.

The idea to make a more interactive and compelling way to allow people  to
speak out with a photo is 100 times more powerful than a signature. It also lists the person's first name (security is key here) and what state they are from. If it gets really big, we can integrate a map so people can see other people from their state.

This was built into their existing Drupal site using multiple templates, flexinode, and some fun design with flexibloc. Anonymous people can add pictures to make it as user friendly as possible and everything goes into an approval queue to ensure that radical conservatives don't abuse the system and to ensure that Planned Parenthood has ultimate control. It was rolled out in under 48 hours :)

This is inane...

As far as I am aware, all pharmacists have the ability to refuse to fill a prescription if they have a moral objection to filling it. I don't work for Target, but I work for a major grocery chain, and that is how it works for us. No one is saying you don't have the right to fill your prescription...they are just saying that if a pharmacist feels morally obligated to refrain from filling a prescription, his company will back him/her up. You can always fill it somewhere else. Keep in mind, also, with the unbelievable shortage of pharmacists nationally, Target (and other companies that have pharmacies) are not in a good bargaining position. They can't just fire a good pharmacist because of a moral objection to morning after pills - who will replace him to get the rest of their patients their meds?

This is totally sweet

Congrats guys. 48 hours - sweet.
