What happens when small companies can outsource basic office work? I’m not talking about relocating facilities or anything that in-depth. More like if a company needs some short term data entry or programming work and wants to do it cheaply. Well why not go to Craigslist?

Check out these two postings:

Urgently 6$/h data entry, daily website updating - I work when you sleep!  (they say that their rates are so cheap because they’re in Europe...maybe Eastern Block or possibly India)

This one is a little more honest:

They even have a Virginia phone number, (703) 839 3969. While this could be great if you are in Warren, Connecticut (a town with one stop light) or another small town where people with technical skills are hard to find, I wonder what impact this will have in Washington, D.C. Although it’s probably good for the developing world.
